The Poco F5 5G series, featuring the Poco F5 5G and Poco F5 Pro 5G variant, is slated to launch globally on May 9. The Poco F5 5G base model, expected to succeed the Poco F4 5G, will launch in India on the same day. Poco has been teasing some features and design details of the smartphone prior to the launch, with official confirmation now provided for the India variant’s color options and critical specifications.
During an interview with Rajiv Makhni, Poco India Head Himanshu Tandon disclosed information about the upcoming Poco F5 5G smartphone’s India variant, which is set to launch on May 9th at 5:30 PM IST. The phone will be available in Carbon Black and Snowstorm White through Flipkart and have a base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.
According to Tandon, the Poco F5 5G will run on the new 4nm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 5G chipset, which was already introduced by Snapdragon. He claimed that the phone’s AnTuTu score is almost a million. The phone’s display panel is believed to be the best in its category, featuring a 93% screen-to-body ratio and thin bezels. It also includes a center-aligned hole-punch slot for the front camera at the top of the display.
The back camera modules of the phone appear to have a turbine-inspired design. The India variant of the Poco F5 5G will feature a triple rear camera setup, with a 64-megapixel primary sensor as indicated by the text on the camera module.
Earlier leaks suggest that the Poco F5 5G may have a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (2400×1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone could feature the new Snapdragon 7 series SoC with an Adreno 725 GPU and run on Android 13 with MIUI 14.

Accompanying the primary rear sensor of the Poco F5 5G, there may be an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel sensor with a macro lens. The front camera is expected to have a 16-megapixel sensor. The phone will likely be a rebranded Redmi K60, and it may have a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
